Awaza Branch of the Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Children in Need Opens in Turkmenistan

On December 9, the opening ceremony of the Awaza branch of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship was held in Turkmenbashi, Turkmenistan. The event was attended by Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva and Vice-President for Medical Activities of the Charitable Foundation, Oguljahan Atabayeva.

Speaking at the ceremony, Oguljahan Atabayeva emphasized that the Foundation, established on the initiative of Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov in 2021, has been carrying out large-scale and effective work since its creation. She noted that the establishment of the Foundation enabled every citizen to participate in charitable activities, highlighting that hundreds of complex medical operations have been performed and several medical institutions have been equipped with modern technologies through its support.

Atabayeva stressed that caring for children is one of the priority areas of state policy. She added that the new branch not only provides high-quality medical care but also offers opportunities for the recreation and rehabilitation of children. She reaffirmed the Foundation’s continued commitment to supporting the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, particularly those focused on improving the living standards of children worldwide.

The Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship aims to support the younger generation, create favorable living conditions, and assist in restoring the health of children requiring care. To date, the Foundation has implemented numerous charitable and humanitarian projects both in Turkmenistan and abroad. Rooted in the principles of humanism, justice, and goodwill, the Foundation’s activities are actively supported by the state and carried out at the international level. In cooperation with UNICEF, the Foundation has delivered humanitarian aid to children affected by emergencies and natural disasters in Türkiye, Ukraine, Russia, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, and Palestine.
