Pakistan’s Prime Minister to Attend WEF2026 in Davos

Prime Minister of Pakistan Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif is set to attend the World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting 2026, to be held in Davos-Klosters, Switzerland, from 20 to 22 January. He will head a senior-level delegation representing Pakistan at one of the world’s most prominent platforms for global economic and political dialogue.

The delegation includes Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, and other high-ranking government officials. Their participation underscores Pakistan’s intent to actively engage with international stakeholders on economic recovery, investment, and regional stability.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Sharif will take part in several key WEF engagements, including the Informal Gathering of World Economic Leaders (IGWEL). The session, focused on rebuilding dialogue in an increasingly polarized international environment, will explore pathways for cooperation amid shifting geopolitical and economic realities.

A central feature of Pakistan’s engagement in Davos will be a high-level business roundtable chaired by the Prime Minister. The forum will bring together global corporate leaders to discuss Pakistan’s investment climate, trade potential, and ongoing structural reforms aimed at economic stabilization and growth.

On the margins of the Annual Meeting, the Prime Minister is expected to hold bilateral interactions with heads of state and government, leaders of international organizations, and senior business executives. These meetings will focus on strengthening economic cooperation, promoting sustainable development, and exchanging views on regional and global peace and security.

Throughout his engagements, Prime Minister Sharif will outline Pakistan’s position on key global and regional issues, while highlighting recent policy initiatives, reform measures, and progress in areas such as trade facilitation and investment promotion.

The World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2026 marks the 56th edition of the Davos gathering and is being held under the theme “A Spirit of Dialogue.” Running from 19 to 23 January, the meeting brings together leaders from government, business, civil society, science, and culture to address major global challenges through open exchange and collaboration.

For more than five decades, the Forum has positioned itself as a neutral platform for public-private cooperation, fostering dialogue across regions, sectors, and ideologies.
