Brussels Welcomes the Opening of the Kazakh Cultural Centre: A New Bridge Between Kazakhstan and Belgium

Kazakhstan’s cultural diplomacy has taken a new step forward in Brussels. This Sunday, the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Belgium officially inaugurated the Kazakh Cultural Centre (“Qazaq Cultural Centre Brussels”), a space dedicated to promoting the Kazakh language, music, and traditions in the heart of the European capital.

The event, held at the Embassy’s premises on Avenue van Bever 30 in Uccle, gathered a diverse audience: Kazakh expatriates, Belgian families curious to discover a lesser-known culture, music lovers, and enthusiasts of Central Asia. The atmosphere was warm, multicultural, and welcoming.

A Rich and Authentic Cultural Programme

For this opening day, the organisers showcased a preview of future activities. Visitors were invited to participate in:

Kazakh Language Club for children and teenagers
Ethno-style drawing workshops
Demonstrations of national instruments, including the iconic dombra
Traditional crafts workshops
Kazakh national games, open to all ages

Children enjoyed the creative workshops, while adults showed strong interest in Kazakh music and language.

A Future Learning Hub for Music, Language, and Arts

Beyond the inauguration, the Centre aims to become a true cultural and educational hub for both Kazakh expatriates and the wider Belgian public.

Upcoming activities will include:

🎵 Dombra Music Classes
The emblematic instrument of Kazakh culture will be taught through beginner and advanced courses.

🗣️ Kazakh Language Courses
Designed for children, teenagers, and adults, these courses will introduce grammar, conversation, pronunciation, and oral traditions.

🎨 Art Classes
Ethnic drawing, painting, traditional crafts, and applied arts will feature prominently in the Centre’s programme.

The ambition is clear: to build a lasting cultural bridge between Kazakhstan and Belgium.
