Many definitions describe what a business diplomat does. Gulbahor Saidganiyeva describes who a business diplomat should be. In this part of its interview series, Business Diplomat presents her portrait.
First observation: the standard she sets
She says that a business diplomat, in her opinion, should be “the most advanced, the most enlightened person of the era.” The bar is high. The phrase does not describe a technician or a salesperson, but a person whose knowledge and outlook are ahead of the period they live in.
Second observation: why the standard matters
The setting she described, with its formal meetings and business lunches, is one where new inventions and new goods appear. A person who works in that setting needs to understand what is new, and to see where the world is going. A diplomat who lags behind cannot represent a company that wants to lead.
The logic of the assessment
Her view links the person to the era. Business changes as technology, information and markets change, so the business diplomat’s education cannot stand still. Being enlightened here means staying informed and open, and being ready to learn.
The role of Business Diplomat
For a platform that aims to give young people experience, bring a diplomatic order to the business world, and benefit states by revitalising the economy, the portrait serves as a goal for training. Young people need practice, and they also need the habit of continuous learning that will keep them ahead of their time.
Conclusion
Saidganiyeva’s standard is demanding: the most advanced and enlightened person of the era. It describes a direction for training, a habit of staying ahead and learning continuously.
