Business Diplomat: Professional Relations
The Kyrgyz MP's formulation, given to Business Diplomat, maps the arenas the platform's young members will enter: private partners, public authorities and international organisations.

Excerpt: A business diplomat is a business representative competent in building professional relations with partners, state institutions and international organisations, says Hojiakbar Mavlyanov, Member of Parliament of Kyrgyzstan.
A name needs a definition. In this part of its interview series, Business Diplomat presents the definition given by Hojiakbar Mavlyanov, a Member of Parliament of Kyrgyzstan, who looks at the concept from the side of public office.

First observation: a representative
“A business diplomat is a business representative who is competent in establishing professional relations...”
The definition begins with representation. A business diplomat speaks for a company or a business community, not only for himself. And the key word is “competent”: the role requires skill, not just a title.

Second observation: three counterparts
The relations are with “partners, state institutions and international organisations.” The list is broad. It includes private partners, public authorities and multilateral bodies. A business diplomat must be at ease with all three, each of which has its own language and expectations.

The logic of the assessment
The definition identifies who the business diplomat is (a business representative), what he does (establishes professional relations) and with whom (partners, state institutions, international organisations).

The role of Business Diplomat
The platform’s mission is to give young people experience, bring a diplomatic order to the business world, and benefit states by revitalising the economy. Mavlyanov’s list of counterparts is a map of the settings the platform’s members will enter. Business Diplomat can prepare young professionals to deal with all three.

Conclusion
A business diplomat is a competent representative who builds professional relations with partners, state bodies and international organisations. Business Diplomat aims to train such representatives.
