Ukraine Recovery Conference 2026 in Gdańsk Demonstrates Strong Global Commitment to Ukraine’s Reconstruction

GDAŃSK, Poland — More than 7,500 participants from across the globe gathered in Gdańsk for the Ukraine Recovery Conference 2026 (URC2026), reaffirming international support for Ukraine’s recovery, reconstruction, and long-term European integration. Bringing together representatives from 115 official delegations and more than 450 accredited journalists, the conference served as one of the most significant diplomatic and economic platforms dedicated to Ukraine since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion.

Government leaders, representatives of international organizations, financial institutions, investors, regional authorities, and civil society organizations met over two days to advance concrete recovery initiatives and strengthen international partnerships. According to the conference organizers, more than 80 agreements and memoranda of cooperation were signed on the opening day alone, covering investment, infrastructure, energy, local governance, and public-private cooperation.

The conference featured addresses from many of Europe’s highest-ranking political leaders, including European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, European Council President António Costa, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, as well as presidents and prime ministers from numerous European countries.

The agenda focused on five strategic priorities: economic recovery and investment, security and defence, Ukraine’s European integration, local and regional cooperation, and the social dimension of reconstruction. Throughout dozens of thematic panels, experts examined financing mechanisms, infrastructure rebuilding, energy resilience, institutional reform, digital innovation, municipal partnerships, and the return and reintegration of displaced Ukrainians and veterans.

Alongside the political programme, hundreds of companies and institutions participated in the conference’s business exhibition, presenting technologies, investment opportunities, and reconstruction projects while engaging in bilateral meetings aimed at developing practical partnerships.

Beyond political declarations, URC2026 emphasized practical implementation. Governments, international financial institutions, private investors, and local authorities presented projects designed to accelerate reconstruction while strengthening Ukraine’s resilience and advancing its path toward European Union membership.

The conference concluded with a clear message: Ukraine’s recovery is not solely a national priority but a shared international responsibility requiring sustained political commitment, coordinated investment, and long-term cooperation. The scale of participation and the number of agreements reached in Gdańsk demonstrate that international partners continue to transform political support into concrete action.
