Assoc. Prof. Dr. Aqiliddin Alimov Completes Postdoctoral Research

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Aqiliddin Alimov, Energy Security Expert at Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies and Chair of the EUREFLECT Academic Board, has added a new study to his academic work. Alimov completed his postdoctoral research titled “Japan’s Energy Diplomacy within the Framework of Geoeconomic Transformations in East Asia.” The study presents important assessments on global energy security, geoeconomics, and the balance of power in the Asia-Pacific region.

Japan’s Energy Strategy Examined from a Multidimensional Perspective

The research analyzes the diplomatic strategies developed by Japan, a country highly dependent on external energy resources, to ensure energy supply security in a changing international system. The study comprehensively evaluates liquefied natural gas (LNG), renewable energy investments, critical mineral supply chains, and the role of strategic partnerships in the Indo-Pacific region within Japanese foreign policy.

A New Academic Contribution to the Relationship Between Geoeconomics and Energy Security

The postdoctoral research demonstrates that energy security has become not only an economic issue but also a geopolitical and geostrategic factor. The transformations taking place in East Asia are examined through an interdisciplinary approach, particularly in terms of their impact on regional power competition, technology policies, and energy diplomacy. The study is considered an important reference for policymakers and academic circles.
