Business Diplomat: Habit, Not Course

A training course ends. A habit does not. In this part of its interview series, Business Diplomat presents Spyros Kapralos’s view of how diplomatic discipline should be taught.

The method
“A platform seeking to instill diplomatic discipline should therefore combine practical training with continuous reflection, ethical leadership, and accountability, so that diplomacy becomes a habit that guides both internal and external interactions.”
Practical training provides skills. Continuous reflection turns experience into learning. Ethical leadership gives an example to follow. Accountability ensures that standards are applied. Without the last three, training fades.

Internal and external
The final phrase points out that diplomacy is not reserved for partners and clients. How colleagues treat each other inside an organisation is part of the same discipline.

The role of Business Diplomat
The platform’s mission is to give young people experience, bring a diplomatic order to the business world, and benefit states by revitalising the economy. A platform that wants to build habits must continue its contact with members over time.

Conclusion
Diplomatic discipline is built by practice, reflection, leadership and accountability until it becomes habitual. Business Diplomat aims to follow that path.
