The 6th The Islamic Solidarity Games “One Nation – Shared Vision”
The Riyadh 2025 Islamic Solidarity Games began with an energetic opening ceremony that showcased Saudi culture and welcomed athletes from 57 countries. Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz inaugurated the event on behalf of King Salman. More than 3,000 competitors are taking part across a wide range of sports, including athletics, swimming, martial arts, team sports, and two para-events.
The Islamic Solidarity Games opened in Riyadh with a vibrant celebration that filled King Fahd International Stadium, bringing together athletes from 57 nations under the theme “One Nation – Shared Vision.” The ceremony reflected a spirit of unity and cultural pride as performers showcased Saudi Arabia’s heritage through music, dance and light displays.
The event marked a proud moment for the Kingdom as His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Riyadh Region, officially declared the Games open on behalf of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
Organised by the Islamic Solidarity Sports Association (ISSA) under the umbrella of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), the Games promote friendship and collaboration among Muslim nations through sport. This year’s edition will feature more than 3,000 athletes competing in 21 sports and plus 2 para sports, as listed below:

As of 13 November 2025, the 6th Islamic Solidarity Games in Riyadh have showcased remarkable performances from several nations. Türkiye continues to dominate the medal table with a total of 97 medals, followed by Uzbekistan with 46 medals, and Kazakhstan in third place with 35 medals. These results reflect strong showings across multiple disciplines, including judo, weightlifting, swimming, and athletics, as athletes push toward the midway point of the Games.
The Riyadh 2025 Games will continue until 21 November 2025, with closing ceremonies expected to draw international leaders, OIC representatives, and sports federations. Organisers have emphasised sustainability, accessibility, and cultural inclusion as central themes of this year’s event.
By the way, The Islamic Solidarity Games, first held in Saudi Arabia in 2005, have grown into one of the most significant multi-sport gatherings in the Muslim world. As the Riyadh edition unfolds, it reaffirms the Kingdom’s commitment to promoting peace and unity through sport.
