Bali Promotes Health Tourism
Bali is strengthening its international health tourism profile by showcasing the Sanur Health Special Economic Zone to foreign diplomats and potential investors.

Bali Promotes Health Tourism
Bali is strengthening its position as an emerging health tourism destination by promoting the Sanur Health Special Economic Zone (SEZ) to international representatives and potential investors.
During the Bali Jagadhita 2026 event, Bank Indonesia’s Bali Representative Office presented investment opportunities in Bali to six foreign ambassadors. The Sanur Health SEZ was among the projects highlighted as part of the province’s wider tourism, trade and investment strategy.
Sanur in Focus
The Sanur Health SEZ was introduced to the diplomatic representatives as an integrated healthcare and tourism development.
Bank Indonesia invited the ambassadors to learn more about the facilities and services already available in the zone, as well as healthcare services planned for the future. The initiative provides an opportunity to increase international awareness of Sanur’s developing health tourism infrastructure.
Sanur is designed to bring healthcare services together with accommodation, tourism and supporting facilities. This integrated model is intended to create a destination where international visitors can access healthcare while also benefiting from Bali’s established tourism ecosystem.
Linking Tourism and Investment
The promotion of Sanur was part of a broader effort to connect tourism, trade and investment in Bali.
During Bali Jagadhita 2026, Bank Indonesia also connected operators of 21 investment projects across Bali and Nusa Tenggara with foreign ambassadors and potential investors. This created additional opportunities to introduce Bali’s development projects to international partners.
Health tourism therefore forms part of a wider investment strategy rather than operating separately from Bali’s tourism sector.
A Growing Health Tourism Hub
The development of Sanur is strengthening Indonesia’s ambition to establish Bali as an international health tourism destination.
The Sanur Health SEZ is designed around an integrated model combining medical services, hospitality and tourism. This approach gives international visitors access to healthcare while placing their experience within one of Indonesia’s best-known tourism destinations.
By presenting Sanur to foreign diplomatic representatives and investors, Indonesia is expanding international awareness of its health tourism infrastructure and creating new opportunities for future investment.
